Writing begins with the breath.

A journey across the untrodden paths of a writer's soul with a book as a companion.

About this blog

It jumped on me right when I was ready to fall asleep and held on tight with arms and legs until I had no choice but to turn on the light, grab the small notebook I keep on my nightstand, and start writing the story of a mirror and a child.

Eventually, I made a deal with the story: I would write down the beginning of it and finish it the next day if it would just let me go to bed. It did let me sleep but not before it wrote itself to the very end in my head, so that when I finally passed out, I knew what was going to happen and how it was going to end.

I kept my promise: I finished writing the story today and now it’s ready to be edited.

This has to be a first one for me. I do get ideas this way once in a while, but I rarely have them written down completely by the next day.

Hooray for me!
